Westchester Medical Center Health Network . Assure a healthy and comfortable hospital environment through the proper operation, control, and maintenance of steam-generating equipment, minor repairs of hospital equipment, and other duties as directed to maintain compliance. Responsibilities
Manipulate valves to control the flow of water and fuel, adjusting steam pressure. Inspect boiler room equipment, observe meters and gauges, and compare findings to specifications. Maintain operating logs including fuel consumption, steam produced, blow-down time, and meter readings. Record readings from medical gas tanks and perform rounds as assigned. Perform minor repairs and maintenance on boilers and hospital equipment. Assist with campus repairs and respond to staff requests, including during weekends and shifts. Handle snowstorms by sanding and salting roads and entry points. Complete paperwork using computer technology and fulfill mandatory testing requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of boiler operation and maintenance experience preferred. Less than High School education required; must read and write English. Apprenticeship or related trade school training preferred. Valid New York State Driver's License required. Physical Requirements
Extremely heavy physical effort (lifting 50 lbs or more). Prolonged standing, walking, manual dexterity, and mobility. Frequent work on ladders, scaffolds, and exposure to various hazards and weather conditions. Additional Information
