Overview
We are seeking an experienced MEP Engineer to join our team at Giga Factory Texas in Austin. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in designing, optimizing, and managing dry and wet mechanical systems, with experience in industrial greenfield and brownfield projects. What You'll Do
Understanding process requirements and crafting of the Basis of Design (BOD), to meet the users requirements Design and review MEP systems, HVAC dry and hydronics, plumbing, understanding of fire protection, in accordance with project requirements and relevant codes Interact with AHJ for compliance Perform site inspections and quality checks to ensure construction aligns with design specifications and standards Apply ASHRAE, NFPA, ICC, ASME, and other applicable standards in HVAC system design and energy calculations Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, system layouts, and calculations Lead equipment procurement workflows from RFP through PO and FAT and commissioning What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience Professional Engineer (PE) license required 5+ years of relevant experience in MEP engineering Proven experience designing and coordinating MEP systems using tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, ACC, BIM, Carrier HAP, or Trane Trace 700, and Revizto or Naviswork for clash coordination Deep understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical design principles and their integration in large-scale projects Strong working knowledge of ASHRAE standards and other applicable codes (e.g., NFPA, NEC, ICC) Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Benefits
