Senior Civil Highway Engineer role at WSP in the U.S. Location: Boston, MA or Worcester, MA (Massachusetts Transportation Team). Responsibilities

Lead project tasks for conceptual and preliminary engineering and final design activities, as well as development of construction plans, calculations, estimates, and specifications for various state and local government agencies and private clients. Coordinate with other design disciplines such as structures, hydraulics, traffic, environmental, geotechnical, utilities, etc. Assist with the development of complex layouts, sketches, plans, specifications, estimates, correspondence, and reports. Develop specifications, reports, and analyses that meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements. Use engineering skills to design horizontal and vertical geometry, 3D corridor modeling, drainage and erosion control. Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers. Remain current in the latest civil engineering techniques and practices. Work collaboratively with other engineers and planners on projects with infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline. 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior civil design experience. Engineer in Training Certification. Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues. Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with engineering and non-engineering audiences. Self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment. Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks concurrently, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies. Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Engineering. Professional Engineering License in Massachusetts or ability to obtain within six months through reciprocity. Experience with design on projects (highway, roadway geometric design, roadway plan production, and drainage design). Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses for project work. WSP Benefits
