Overview
Instrumentation Flight Test Engineer - Journeyman, T-38 at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI). Duty location: Holloman AFB, NM. Responsibilities
Creates, modifies, and reviews temporary modification packages for USAF aircraft and systems. Performs engineering analysis (electrical, mechanical, thermal, and aerodynamic) and the design of modifications. Contributes to airworthiness documentation, briefings, and engineering work. Contributes to ground test plans, flight test plans, test cards, flight test safety plans, and other test artifacts under the direction of a senior engineer. Schedules resources for tests and coordinates with multiple engineering disciplines and outside agencies to ensure successful test execution. Leads test mission briefs and execution of tests as a Test Conductor or Test Director. Completes post-test mission reporting requirements. Supports MTSI’s core value to “Own and Solve our Customer’s Problems.” Full-time support at Holloman AFB, NM is required. Required
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in all phases of planning, executing, and managing flight tests. Experience implementing or supporting implementation of temporary modifications on test aircraft (e.g., T2 mods). Experience with aircraft flight test instrumentation. Experience with avionics systems, engineering product creation and analysis. Experience in data analysis principles and practices as well as tools (MATLAB, Python). Maturity and professionalism to lead the execution of flight test missions, briefings, and oversee a team of discipline engineers to support Flight Test Operations. Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently. Experience generating test plans, flight test mission material, post-mission reports, and detailed final reports. Willingness to adapt to changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers’ requirements and needs. Qualifications Desired
Developmental Test or Operational Test experience. Experience in rapid experimentation of military aircraft. Experience flight testing of avionics systems, weapons, live fires and releases, and sensor testing. Experience in Electronic Warfare and RF/IR Countermeasures. Experience in aero performance/flight envelope expansion. Education Requirements
Required - Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field. Clearance Requirements
