Overview
Pearce is seeking a highly skilled OSP Engineer to support copper and fiber outside plant facility engineering projects. This role is responsible for estimating, analyzing, designing, and planning OSP projects while tracking budgets and ensuring compliance with company and industry standards. The OSP Engineer will coordinate with municipal agencies, contractors, and utilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This dynamic position requires strong field and design experience, organizational skills, and the ability to balance technical work with permitting, reporting, and cross‑team collaboration.
Responsibilities
Meet with township, city, county, and state officials to discuss road and utility projects (travel required; mileage reimbursed).
Locate and identify Frontier facilities, working with project managers and municipal engineers to evaluate project impacts.
Collaborate with other utilities to develop relocation plans that minimize conflicts and avoid delays.
Field/design OSP BAU work orders (service orders, subdivisions, road moves, dark fiber MDU, copper/fiber aerial, buried, and underground).
Update design and project systems (FROGS, CAD, Varasset, SiteTracker).
Coordinate with power companies and communication providers regarding make-ready work, pole replacements, and service requests.
Prepare and submit permits to local, state, and federal agencies (DOT, DNR, Railroad, Pipeline, etc.).
Partner with SSP Contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective construction.
Address plant damage repair (PDR/DOR) requests, including cable count adjustments and capital projects.
Conduct site surveys and design capital projects for cell towers.
Support field and central office technicians by investigating and resolving PUC complaints.
Work closely with Contract Engineers to ensure projects align with business and client needs.
Qualifications
3–5+ years in copper and fiber‑optic telecommunications engineering, including broadband design and OSP construction.
5+ years in network engineering or related field, with strong knowledge of fiber record management, cable counts, and permitting.
Skilled in FROGS, CAD updates, and OSP Telecom Construction.
Proficiency with Frontier mapping, design tools, and permitting systems.
Strong ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with municipal officials, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Demonstrated knowledge of permitting processes and requirements.
Ability to travel as needed for project meetings, inspections, and surveys.

Compensation Base Pay Range: $37—$38 USD
