Controls Engineering Technician, Body In White, Semi – role at Jobs via Dice. As a Tesla Controls Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair Controls and Electrical systems within our SEMI BIW. You will work with the highest caliber controls, electrical and process engineers to improve equipment reliability of controls and electrical systems and to minimize or eliminate downtime. Tesla's Controls Technicians are the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running. Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for all electrical and controls related activities in the shop, assisting production and maintenance teams in all electrical and controls related topics and issues Strong electrical background including understanding electrical wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical cabinets ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase PLC programming and troubleshooting using several different programming styles, including ladder logic and structured text Develop and maintain proper documentation of electrical and controls equipment and associated procedures, making updates as required by modifications Responsibility for programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical, and controls equipment used to improve the existing systems Optimization and improvement of human machine interfaces, and SCADA systems. Creation and improvements of equipment safety standards, and the implementation of those standards into the manufacturing equipment, including periodic checks and qualification inspections Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or relevant experience Three (3) or more years of experience working in a controls technician/engineer role on production manufacturing equipment and/or have equivalent training or relevant education or experience Skilled in PLC programming (SIEMENS Step7, TIA porta, Allen Bradley Controllogix) Skilled in SCADA systems such as Ignition and Wincc Experience working in a fast paced and dynamic environment and able to manage multiple priorities Comfortable reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical systems Verbal and written communication skills (able to understand and record maintenance procedures, shift pass downs) Seniority level
