Industrialization Leader – The Industrialization Leader is responsible for the technical review and preparation of new products, ensuring they reach the production phase on time and of good quality. They support manufacturing and processes to lead the successful industrialization of new products, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality adherence. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring products from conception through to first article validation and to the production phase. They work under close supervision and with the support of their team. Main Function Responsibilities: Within the manufacturing engineer job description, there are 2 separate job functions. Typically an employee will perform one or the other, not both. Both functions are described within. A) Industrialization Leader 1- i) Manage the technical development of a product from conception to production ii) Utilize core tools such as PFMEA, DFMA, control plans, etc. iii) Collaborate with engineering, operations, tooling and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes iv) Review and approve or reject engineering drawings in accordance with internal DFM guidelines and requirements v) Create and maintain detailed work instructions vi) Ensure design and process are sufficient to produce the quality of product required by internal and external standards vii) Support production areas, fabrication and final assembly, when new product is being launched to quickly address and correct issues that may arise viii) Recommend changes to designs, tolerances, or processing methods to resolve production issues ix) Design and develop the process as necessary to produce the product at the volume and quality required x) Attend design reviews and provide relevant feedback for manufacturability xi) Support engineering as necessary through development phase (collaboration, drawing review, etc.) For DEV process, Industrialization Leader is responsible for: Contributing to and participating in PBS reviews. Preparing and presenting Industrialization Reviews to Program Industrial Manager. Job Requirements
Education & Qualification: B.S degree in a related technical field (e.g.: Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer/Technology, Aeronautics Engineer, or Electrical Engineer) or an Associate degree with 6 years related experience or 12 years of job related experience Work Experience - Technical knowledge: One to three years of manufacturing experience preferred but not required; Catia or design modeling a plus Professional Skills: Must have basic knowledge of production methods, process capabilities, tooling processes, and manufacturing processes; must be capable of preparing well-written reports; basic knowledge of manufacturing and related operations; knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles preferred; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; ability to read and review written communication; English language clarity Behavioral Skills: Able to work collaboratively with cross functional teams; able to maintain an organized workspace and calendar; able to approach problems analytically and creatively Desirable Aspects: APQP, D&PFMEA, Control Plan, etc.; CATIA V.5, CAD Modeling experience; Problem Solving Company Information
