Test Engineering provides technical expertise to numerous manufacturing and development programs within Raytheon. Our work involves electronic hardware for close-in weapons systems. The manufacturing operations is located in Louisville, KY.

Primary responsibilities include supporting test and troubleshooting of complex weapon systems such as RF, IF, Analog or Digital hardware sub-assemblies. This position requires close cooperation with the Operations team and other engineering disciplines including Product Design, Test Development and Manufacturing Engineering working in a PRISM/SAP based manufacturing environment. The desired candidate will possess superb communication skills and be capable of working in a dynamic team environment. Extensive job training is provided.

What You Will Do

Interpreting test requirements, developing and maintaining test procedures, and documenting test practices

Analyzing data to drive issues to root cause

Generating Change Requests (CRs) on technical issues relating to the production test process

Supporting test development projects

Support improvement projects to increase first pass yield

Engagement with Program, Quality and Design teams to solve issues impacting production

Ensuring hardware requirements are met and processes are followed

Assisting production test engineers and manufacturing operators in the testing & troubleshooting of production hardware

Supporting functional test platforms

Ability to travel as required

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

Experience with technical writing

Experience with MRP systems

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related engineering degree

Masters in Electrical Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience

Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, OneNote)

RF, IF, Analog or Digital troubleshooting skills

Labview/LabWindows

Test equipment knowledge/familiarity with Tektronix and Keysight instruments

Use of oscilloscopes or spectrum analyzers for testing/troubleshooting

A continuous improvement mindset to enhance manufacturing test methods through process modernization

Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Active SECRET clearance

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
