Position Summary The
Quality Control Manager
is responsible for leading all aspects of quality assurance and control within our manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all products meet internal standards and customer requirements by implementing and maintaining robust quality management systems. The QC Manager collaborates with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement and uphold compliance with all applicable industry and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities 1. Quality Management & Oversight
Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
Ensure compliance with ISO, FDA, or other relevant quality standards.
Create and update quality policies, procedures, and documentation.
Lead internal and external quality audits, including customer and regulatory inspections.
2. Inspection & Testing
Supervise inspection, testing, and verification of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products.
Analyze test data and provide feedback to prevent recurrence of defects.
Maintain calibration schedules for measuring and testing equipment.
Lead and mentor the quality control team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Assign duties, evaluate performance, and provide ongoing training for QC staff.
4. Process Improvement
Collaborate with operations and engineering to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to improve product quality and reduce waste.
Track and report key quality metrics such as defect rates, scrap, and rework.
5. Customer and Supplier Quality
Serve as the primary contact for customer quality concerns and complaints.
Manage supplier quality programs and ensure vendor compliance.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, audits, and corrective actions.
Prepare monthly and quarterly quality performance reports.
Support regulatory and certification audits with documentation and data collection.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related field.
5+ years of experience in quality control or assurance within a manufacturing environment.
2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
Certifications (Preferred)
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of SPC, root cause analysis, and quality tools (FMEA, 8D, etc.).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, and quality software (e.g., Minitab, QCBD).
Understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, GMP, or related quality frameworks.
