Arcadis is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager with a minimum of 15 years of experience to join our Water Business Line in Indianapolis, IN. This role is a client-facing project manager who leads and directs the development of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. It is a hands-on role with expectations to lead projects, manage staff, and participate in business development activities. The position may involve being embedded in a local client’s office as needed. Role accountabilities
Lead and direct the development of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects as a client-facing project manager, leveraging experience in water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, stormwater management, pump/lift stations, and water/wastewater treatment facilities including investigations, studies, analyses, designs, and construction administration services. Manage planning, design, and construction administration to ensure compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications, codes, statutes, rules, and regulations, as well as Arcadis quality and safety practices. Communicate with clients, establish goals/objectives for project teams, and coordinate resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to client performance expectations. Provide technical leadership on multi-disciplinary projects as a design leader, QA/QC reviewer, or technical advisor. Mentor junior engineers and technical staff. Work with clients to determine needs, deliver solutions, and grow client relationships with target clients. Lead teams in marketing and proposal phases, including preparation of winning proposals, presentations, and development of scopes of work and budgets for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. Required qualifications
Minimum 15 years of water/wastewater and stormwater experience. At least 10 years of project management experience managing mid to large-sized, multi-disciplinary municipal water, wastewater, or stormwater projects with responsibilities similar to those described. Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license in IN; ability to obtain licensure in IL, OH, and KY. Key skills & attributes
Team leadership, project delivery management, task prioritization, and mentoring. Experience in preparing construction documents, drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates. Client management including identifying potential projects, preparing proposals, and building client relationships. Strong business acumen with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Active involvement in local professional associations, industry activities, and conferences. Preferred qualifications
Technical expertise in water/wastewater projects. Knowledge of local municipalities in Indiana and Kentucky. Track record of managing client accounts, assisting in new client development, and leading project pursuits in a collaborative team environment. Why Arcadis
