NPAworldwide . Location: Watertown, New York. Schedule: Full-time, Day shift. Compensation: $85K-$100K per year + $5,000 sign-on bonus (two-year commitment). We are seeking a dedicated and experienced MDS Manager to oversee the Minimum Data Set (MDS) process in compliance with state and federal regulations, ensuring accurate documentation to support clinical, regulatory, and financial outcomes. The MDS Manager will serve as an educator, liaison, and advocate to maximize resident care and reimbursement while maintaining high standards of compliance and quality. Responsibilities

Maintain up-to-date MDS status for each resident in accordance with regulatory requirements, including OBRA, Medicare PPS, and Medicaid payment systems. Provide MDS-related education and training to staff, including regulatory updates. Conduct focused audits to ensure documentation supports clinical and financial needs. Act as a liaison between providers, residents, families, and payers to optimize reimbursement for care services. Screen residents and medical records to identify those at higher risk for complex or acute care needs. Document clearly and accurately in medical records while communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team. Coordinate resident care conferences to ensure appropriate services and care planning. Participate in inspections, audits, and surveys conducted by regulatory agencies and payers. Benefits

Current New York State RN license (required). Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator (RNAC) certification (preferred). Previous experience in long-term care (LTC) or geriatric settings (required). Strong knowledge of nursing and medical practices, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care, including PPS. Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid and payer regulations. Experience in quality assurance, documentation review, and appeals processes. Proficiency with computer systems and office applications. Ability to plan, organize, and implement programs, policies, and procedures to support quality care and compliance.
