Senior Project Manager – Ground-Up Multifamily Development North Carolina | Leading Multifamily Developer–Builder Macdonald & Company is proud to exclusively represent a well-established, vertically integrated multifamily developer–builder with a reputation for delivering high-quality communities. Role Overview – Senior Project Manager: The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale multifamily projects. This role will oversee project teams, manage budgets and schedules, ensure quality and safety standards, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders from concept to closeout. Key Responsibilities Preconstruction & Planning Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling in collaboration with development, design, and construction teams. Oversee subcontractor selection, contract negotiations, and procurement strategies. Review plans, specifications, and project requirements to ensure constructability and value optimization. Project Execution & Management Direct all phases of project delivery from groundbreaking to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality goals. Manage and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and field staff. Proactively identify and resolve project risks, delays, and conflicts. Oversee use of project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6) for documentation, RFIs, submittals, and reporting. Coordination & Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal leadership. Lead weekly project meetings, maintain clear progress tracking, and ensure timely decision-making. Coordinate closely with field teams to maintain alignment between site operations and project objectives. What You’ll Bring 6+ years of experience managing large-scale, ground-up multifamily projects. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and stakeholders. Strong budgeting, scheduling, and contract negotiation experience. Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and MS Office Suite. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience. OSHA 30 certification preferred.
