Maintenance Technician I
role at
Hunt Military Communities . Position is located at Bolling AFB Family Housing, Washington, DC. The Maintenance Technician I will provide general maintenance to rental housing and may assist in getting rental units ready during change of occupancy. You will be a valuable member of the maintenance team, responsible for checking, troubleshooting, making and documenting routine repairs in areas such as air conditioning, water heaters, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and other building maintenance tasks. Personnel may frequently work outdoors in all weather conditions, as well as in attics, crawl spaces, and other tight spaces depending on the maintenance requirement. What You Will Do
Drive for the company using a company vehicle, rental vehicle, or personal vehicle. Respond to service requests including furnaces, air-conditioning systems, appliances, water heaters and solar collection tanks, disposals, general plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other required maintenance items. Provide excellent customer service on service requests and document all work in accordance with company policy. Maintain equipment such as tools, gauges, snakes, drills, etc., in ready repair. Understand and follow proper use of equipment and chemicals including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow and adhere to an established preventive maintenance program and perform required maintenance including replacement of filters. Assist in making ready vacated units including painting, sanding, varnishing, floor tile replacement, ceramic tile replacement, drywall repair, fixture repair and/or replacement, floor stripping, waxing, polishing, window repair and/or replacement, and similar tasks as required. Exterior make‑ready work may also be required. Perform emergency maintenance, including sewage backups, water main/lateral breaks, fires, weather-related damage, water leaks, appliance repairs, etc. Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner. Maintain reliable and punctual attendance. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) with training and/or experience in building maintenance trades. Required 1–3 years of experience in building maintenance. Required General knowledge of maintenance trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and over 50 pounds occasionally. Driver's License (valid and in-state required). Compensation
Hiring range generally between $23.32 – $28.04 per hour, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is eligible for a performance bonus. Final salaries determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience. Pay equity is considered, and the range above is a general Hiring Range. Hiring at the top of the range reserved for exceptionally qualified candidates.
