We are seeking a Contract Manager (SME) to provide advisory & assistance services (A&AS) supporting a major defense program, focusing on Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition lifecycle planning and Space Force systems. This role involves contract negotiation, administration, compliance, and acquisition strategy execution to support SSC’s mission in developing and sustaining space systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with DoD acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), contract lifecycle management, and working within U.S. Space Force programs. Key Responsibilities
Assist the client in executing source selections per FAR 9.505.-4 Develop source selection documentation Review and draft proposal evaluations Support contract and subcontract management Assist in executing contracting actions (e.g., advising on RFPs, technical evaluations) Provide contracts guidance and determinations Advise on contractual rights, obligations, risk mitigation, and strategy Manage IDIQ contracts and develop acquisition strategies for follow-on efforts Qualifications
Educational Requirements: MA/MS in Business, Finance, Contract Management, or related field Required Experience: Expertise in Federal, DoD, Air Force, and SSC contracting processes Ability to lead contract actions including solicitations, proposals, modifications, and fee management Prior PCO or Buyer experience preferred Experience with contractual rights, risk mitigation, strategy, and problem solving Proficiency in preparing contract files for review Ability to coordinate between government organizations and summarize information for presentations Experience with Space Systems Command (SSC) or Space Force organizations Development of contractual and pricing strategies Desired Experience: NCMA Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), CFCM, or DAWIA Level II/III in Contracting Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI Clearance Additional Information
