Litigation Legal Assistant
to support attorneys in our
Construction Litigation
practice group. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex litigation matters, preferably in the construction or real estate sectors, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role requires strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities. Key Responsibilities: Assist attorneys with all phases of the litigation process, from case initiation through trial and post-trial activities. Prepare, format, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and trial exhibits. Coordinate court filings in state and federal courts, including e-filing through various portals. Maintain and organize case files, both electronic and hard copy, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Calendar and manage critical deadlines, court appearances, hearings, depositions, and client meetings. Support attorneys with trial preparation, including assembling binders, exhibit lists, witness lists, and coordinating logistics. Communicate with clients, court personnel, vendors, and opposing counsel in a professional manner. Review and organize construction-related documentation, including contracts, change orders, pay applications, RFIs, and project correspondence. Manage time entries and assist with billing processes using firm-specific software. Perform other administrative and legal tasks as required to support the team. Qualifications: Experience:
3+ years as a litigation legal assistant; experience in construction litigation strongly preferred. Education:
Associate’s degree or certificate in legal studies preferred; equivalent work experience accepted. Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and case management software (e.g., iManage, NetDocuments, Clio); familiarity with e-filing systems (e.g., PACER, state e-filing). Knowledge:
Understanding of legal terminology and litigation procedures; familiarity with construction contracts and industry documents a plus. Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize effectively under pressure. Disposition:
Self-starter, collaborative team player, and committed to delivering high-quality work with a client-focused mindset. Seniority level
