Chief Building Official

Performs a variety of complex administrative, technical, and professional work in administering, managing, and coordinating the activities and operations of City building services for residential, multi-family, and commercial site installations. Functional areas of responsibility include building inspection, construction permitting, and enforcement of federal and state regulations and local codes and ordinances governing the construction of new buildings and the alteration, use, and ongoing safety of existing buildings. Position is primarily focused on managing, coaching, and developing other people. Position requires extensive depth of expertise and knowledge of the building construction industry that can be used to develop policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the organization's business strategies.
