Position Summary: The Industrial Service & Repair (IS&R) Market Manager is responsible for driving the sales growth of the industrial service & repair business within the defined geography. This role will partner with existing Account Managers to provide on-site support, joint calls and opportunity identification. It will require strong coordination and interaction with the local and regional SunSource business units throughout the geography.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement and manage ongoing sales and growth strategies for all industrial service & repair opportunities.
Product Marketing Plan: Develop a comprehensive growth plan including key targeted customers, understanding of the primary competition, repair and applications opportunities and pricing strategies to acquire new sales. Develop short, intermediate, and long-term growth plans to increase market share.
Market/Industry/Customer Evaluation: Develop and coordinate marketing and sales strategy to leverage the SunSource and partnered value-add repair solutions within key customers and applications. Develop understanding of the products and services used within these applications and the associated market size. Become the subject matter expert on service & repair capabilities by understanding local market business strategies and programs.
Marketing Communication: Provide leadership in the local districts and regions regarding marketing of Industrial S&R opportunities. Help create, implement, and lead marketing programs to support industrial product lines and related services. Support the local sales organization with marketing materials and promotional activities such as newsletters, advertisements, supplier conferences, industry tradeshows and association meetings. Conduct presentations and joint sales calls at strategic customer sites to support sales and account development initiatives.
Sales Support: Act as central coordination point within the local district and regions on potential service & repair customers. Collaborate with local SunSource district sales teams to make joint sales calls. Engage in regular cadence updates and monthly/quarterly business reviews.
Specific Skills Required
Demonstrated extensive understanding of Service & Repair markets and business strategies
Experience integrating marketing efforts and communications
Strong technical S&R skills
Ability to influence others through collaborative consensus building
Proven results developing strategies in executive relationships, application of technologies to operations
Develop appropriate approach and strategy to win new business; team facilitation and relationship-building skills; effective communicator
Enthusiasm and motivation; able to work in a fast-paced environment; willing to travel within the assigned region
General Education and Experience
Education – Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in Marketing, Business or technical/mechanical industrial technology programs.
Experience – 10+ years of increasingly responsible sales experience in Industrial S&R. Experience with service and repair capabilities is a plus. Multi-location experience is beneficial.
Knowledge and Skills – Well-organized, able to coordinate with support groups in a matrix environment. Creative problem solving. Strong written and oral communication skills; experience in preparing marketing collateral and presenting at upper management levels.
