The Manager, IT Procurement drives the client experience by leading effective Strategic Sourcing strategies, category management, and contract governance. This role supports portfolio goals through cost savings, diversity, green supply chain, spend reduction, supplier consolidation, and standardization opportunities. Leads multiple spend categories within a portfolio and influences stakeholders to become trusted business advisors. Responsibilities
Develop strategic portfolio and category plans to generate cost savings, deliver service excellence, optimize diversity spending, and manage total cost of ownership for key lines of business. Ensure governance of the contract approval process from creation through award. Oversee contract spend across multiple spend categories. Develop short- and long-term strategies for all spend categories within the portfolio. Lead complex cross-functional teams in executing strategic sourcing initiatives. Manage spend analysis, needs assessment, benchmarking, and business case development. Lead development and execution of negotiation strategies. Monitor and maximize customer satisfaction using standardized SLAs. Manage continuous improvement-based relationships with clients and suppliers. Establish SLAs to hold suppliers accountable for performance. Approve purchase orders and contracts from $500,000 to $10 million. Directly supervise Sourcing Supervisors, Category Leaders, and Sourcing Specialists. Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (one year of experience per year of college) 8 years of total sourcing or related industry experience; some roles may require technical/category experience Ability to lead cross-functional teams Ability to identify and resolve problems and implementation barriers Demonstrated leadership and management skills Desired MBA or equivalent advanced degree Project management experience; utility industry experience Demonstrated category management and procurement transformation experience 2-3 years of supervisor experience SAP/SRM proficiency Additional notes
