Assistant Director for Academic Initiatives and Experiential Learning
The Assistant Director for Academic Initiatives and Experiential Learning is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position reporting to the Director for Residence Life. The role works closely with Housing and Residence Life to manage academic initiatives, Faculty In-Residence programs, Living Learning Communities (LLCs), Theme/Special interest Housing, and large-scale residential programs to support 5,700+ on-campus students. Primary Responsibilities
Oversee academic initiatives and the Faculty In-Residence program; actively recruit and train new and returning faculty for the faculty-in-residence program. Collaborate with campus partners and academic colleges to create, facilitate, and develop existing and new living-learning communities. Market and recruit residential students for living-learning communities and themed/special interest housing. Coordinate the development and implementation of programs and initiatives related to residents’ academic success; coordinate the Annual House Calls initiative. Serve as the liaison to the Residential Colleges and act as the department lead for the Residential Curriculum. Time Allocation

Academic Initiatives (30%)
Faculty In-Residence: recruit and train faculty for the faculty-in-residence program. Collaborate with campus partners and academic colleges to create, facilitate, and develop LLCs and theme housing. Market and recruit residents for LLCs and themed housing. Oversee coordination, development, and implementation of programs to support academic success among residential students. Coordinate annual House Calls initiative. Serve as liaison to Residential Colleges and lead the Residential Curriculum. Supervision and Leadership (15%)
Supervise, train, and evaluate 3–4 full-time, live-in, master’s-level coordinators for Residence Life. Articulate vision, mission, and goals for the area, department, and division. Assist in development, implementation, and assessment of departmental goals and initiatives. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with staff. Provide referrals to other university departments/resources as needed. Oversee department committees and participate in on-call duty rotation for 5,700 residents. Administration (5%)
Assist in overall direction and strategic planning of short- and long-term Residence Life goals. Maintain accurate accounting of funds and expenditures. Collaborate with other staff, departments, and offices to foster university partnerships. Other Duties
Represent Housing and Residence Life on departmental, divisional, and university committees. Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director or Executive Director of Housing and Residence Life. Qualifications
Master’s Degree with concentration in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Facilities Management, or related field. A minimum of four years of full-time experience in Housing and Residential Programs (Residence Life). Job Details
