Overview Job Title: Manager, Purchasing

Location: Conyers, GA

What we are looking for We are seeking an experienced Manager, Purchasing to develop purchasing strategies, foster positive relationships with suppliers, and oversee the purchasing team in their daily activities.

This position will oversee direct and indirect material spend of $100M+ for one manufacturing plant located in Conyers, Georgia and will be responsible for developing a team of 8-10 professionals and implementing tools / processes that improve operating performance of the department.

We are looking for an individual that has passion and demonstrated success in building teams, driving results, and leading supply chain process improvements. The successful candidate should have:

Responsibilities

Leading tactical and strategic purchasing initiatives to ensure purchased goods and services are available on time, at the lowest total cost to the business.

Manage and monitor order rates, inventory levels and delivery plans.

Attend production planning meetings, maintaining optimal and up to date item parameters on PFEP or other purchasing strategies, for direct and indirect materials.

Developing and implementing inventory and purchasing strategies (VMI, Kanban, MRP, 3PL, etc.) to ensure material availability for production.

Working closely with production control, operations, and engineering to identify supply constraints and mitigate customer impact.

Partnering with functional peers to improve visibility and accuracy of purchased requirements through BOM Accuracy, SIOP, and Inventory Accuracy.

Managing supplier relations and escalations in conjunction with Site Sourcing.

Collaborating with Sourcing to support cost reduction goals for purchased parts.

Ensuring the accuracy of all purchasing master data.

Training and developing team members in both technical and behavioral skills.

Working closely with Supplier Quality to facilitate supplier corrective actions and compliance with DFR Supplier Quality Manual.

Leading continuous improvement activities related to purchasing processes, tools, and communication.

Working with Site Sourcing to implement monthly PPV reviews and identify opportunities to improve performance.

Improving performance of department KPIs on Supplier OTD, PPV, PO Processing Time and E&O reduction.

Basic qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field

10 years of progressive experience with a diverse background including manufacturing, supply chain, planning, and logistics experience. Additionally, a strong managerial, business, and technical education.

Minimum 6 years of experience in procurement-related functions.

Minimum 6 years of experience leading teams.

Preferred qualifications

Master's Degree (MBA).

User expertise in an ERP system.

APICS CPIM, CSCP or ISM CPSM certification.

Lean / Six Sigma experience.

Leadership experience in a complex manufacturing operating environment.

Expertise in global supply chain planning and logistics activities.

Commensurate experience with ERP/MRP/WMS systems.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications as well as Financial Statement Analysis.

Advanced Excel skills.

Project Management experience.

Contract Review / Management experience.

Experience with Power BI or similar analytics platform.

Expertise in helping lead the SIOP (Sales Inventory Operations Planning) Process with results.

Key Metrics

Delivery: On time in Full%, Average Customer Lead Time, Plant Schedule Adherence.

Inventory: Inventory $, Days of Inventory Outstanding (DIO) Days forward coverage.

Supplier Planning Metrics and Inventory levels, DOS, and supplier OTD.

Logistics: Freight Cost and compliance with established routing guidelines.
