Overview This position is responsible for proactively growing and deepening relationships with both existing and new small business clients. These clients are typically companies with up to $2 million in annual revenues. The role involves presenting product and service solutions that meet clients’ needs and financial goals, including consumer and small business products, deposits, treasury and credit solutions. The position may also conduct educational seminars in the community and reach out through visits and outbound calls to clients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Follows the sales management process to maintain a regular calling program with clients and prospects to generate high quality new deposits and loan business.
Meets with existing clients and prospects to discuss business needs and provide banking solutions.
Assists in planning portfolio growth via development of a business plan aligned with departmental budget and asset/liability objectives.
Coordinates with internal partners to meet client needs and financial goals.
Maintains knowledge of competitors’ products and pricing in the market served.
Reviews deposit profitability and outlines strategies to improve unprofitable accounts.
Works with borrowing clients to obtain updated financial information; communicates lending decisions to clients.
Follows up on loan exceptions to ensure timely clearance and controls exception volumes.
Serves as a representative in civic/community functions to enhance image and develop business opportunities.

Minimum Required Education, Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
2-4 years of experience as a Business Banker
Proven ability to meet sales goals including credit products and internal referrals
Proficient in proactively sourcing, acquiring, building and maintaining client relationships
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience as a business advocate; knowledge of retail and/or small business products and strategies
Understanding of banking products and services; experience sourcing small business clientele
Demonstrated understanding of financial accounting and analysis
Experience leading or participating in local networks or professional organizations
Essential Mental & Physical Requirements
Effective organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently and provide exceptional customer service
Ability to travel as required to perform essential job functions
Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
Ability to operate related equipment; lifting/moving up to 10 pounds if required, with accommodations as needed
