Overview

Position: CT Technologist

Employment Type: Full time

Shift: Day Shift

Schedule/Hours: Full-time, 32 hours per week; Days (mostly 9-hour shifts)

Responsibilities

Prepares patient by establishing necessary intravenous medications (IV) and administering oral and/or IV contrast media

Produces computerized tomography scans by entering patient data, programming the scanner, and the power injector

Evaluates the quality of images and films all images

Utilizes radiation protection devices and protocols, and infection control policies and procedures

Schedules and charges patients, retrieves films, and facilitates physician/patient inquiries

Explains exam and procedures, and acquires patient history

Monitors safety and comfort of patient through the exam

Qualifications

Completion of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Technology program

Must be currently registered by ARRT, CAMRT, or NMTCB

Continuing education credits per biennium to retain registry status; at least 2 credits in CT

Document at least 20 hours of training/experience in CT equipment, radiation physics, and protection or have ARRT advanced CT certification

One-year work experience in general diagnostic radiology

Certification or re-certification in CPR within three months of hire

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform push/pull tasks up to 35 lbs

Preferred: ARRT(CT) and/or must obtain ARRT(CT) within one year of hire

Preferred: One year of CT scan experience
