Role Specification We are looking for a highly passionate individual who believes that innovative prosthetic solutions can enhance a patient's quality of life. As our Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist, your goal is to deliver state-of-the-art prostheses and excellent services to clinical partners and users of our cutting-edge assistive technology. This role offers growth opportunities as the company expands.
Your responsibilities include becoming a specialist in fitting Open Bionics devices to patients, managing the full workflow of building and fitting check-sockets, and delivering training to patients so they get the most from their prosthesis. You will maintain high standards of customer service and are expected to manage your own clinic over time. You should develop an excellent understanding of the partial hand, below-elbow, and above-elbow solutions we offer and act as a clinical ambassador for the company. This is a high-responsibility role requiring leadership and a business-owner mindset to optimize patient experiences and workflow efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver the highest standard of clinical services to Open Bionics customers in line with core values.
Provide training and ongoing support for patients on using their upper limb prosthesis to achieve daily living activities and personal goals.
Educate and certify prosthetic care providers on our systems and devices.
Track performance via customer feedback, metrics and ERP data to inform growth decisions.
Review eligibility for devices and support trials with clinical partners when required.
Coordinate clinical input to improve adoption, prescription and funding applications.
Provide internal clinical input to developers on hardware/software products; test new versions and contribute to documentation for clinicians and end-users.
Represent the company at relevant events, including booth activities and workshops.
Contribute to clinical research projects/publications to reinforce clinical value of our solutions.
Participate in R&D projects for new technologies that aid clinicians.
Provide a patient-centered approach to upper limb prosthetic rehabilitation and ongoing support.
Attend and host a weekly satellite visit once per quarter.
A successful first six months at Open Bionics would include developing a sustainable and efficient clinical workflow/pipeline in coordination with Open Bionics’ UK and US clinics.
Person Scorecard / Qualifications
Certified Prosthetist with recent graduation or 1–5 years minimum experience (orthotics/prosthetics). Experience with upper limb prosthetics (myoelectric/multiarticulating/bionic components) is advantageous but not required.
Evidence-based practice approach with understanding of Open Bionics’ vision.
Proficiency with shape capture and rectification; experience with 3D scanning/digital rectification platforms preferred.
Ability to outline appropriate prosthetic prescriptions for upper limb absence and creative problem solving.
Excellent patient care and motivation to deliver optimal patient experiences and outcomes.
Commitment to creating successful patient outcomes aligned with patient needs.
BOC or ABC certification as Prosthetist or Orthotist/Prosthetist (or Board Eligible).
Passionate about making high-end prosthetics more accessible and aligned with our mission.
