Clinical Staff Pharmacist, Shift Varies, Inpatient Pharmacy – UC Health Location: UC Medical Center Department: Inpatient Pharmacy Hours: Full-time, 40 Hours/Weekly Shift: Varies We are hiring a Clinical Staff Pharmacist for the Inpatient Pharmacy Department at the University of Cincinnati’s Medical Center. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is offered. Responsibilities
Prepares and dispenses medication orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Interprets verbal and written medication orders and transcribes to computerized patient medication profiles accurately; maintains accurate, complete medication profiles. Prepares and dispenses medications, including sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition preparations, safely and accurately using appropriate techniques. Issues controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records as required by law. Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department. Maintains competence required for current job title/position and meets hospital and department standards of performance. Assists with pharmacokinetics consult service and drug dosing per organizational protocol. Qualifications
Education:
B.S. in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy is required. PharmD preferred. License and Certification:
Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Ohio. ACLS preferred. Years of Experience:
Six-month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital experience preferred. Preference for PGY1 residency or equivalent. Required Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff; handle interruptions; adapt to changes in workload; set priorities; make critical decisions; communicate effectively; meet pharmaceutical care needs of UC Health patients.
