Overview
Engineering Technology Development Program – Power Electronics Track focuses on the development of power electronics technology platforms and common hardware building blocks to create innovative solutions. This is a two-year rotational program with two unique 12-month assignments. Rotations may support a specific business unit/product line or broader technologies across the enterprise. Participants will build leadership aptitude and technical depth in critical and strategic focus areas. Global Perspectives: The program spans diverse businesses and locations; relocation to an endorsed Eaton site is a required part of the adventure. Role Exploration: You’ll explore various roles and participate in the LDP Core Learning Series to build functional expertise and leadership capabilities. Strategic Networking: Collaborate with senior leaders through mentorship programs and participate in advisory boards to influence peer engagement and learning. Engineering & Technology Program Focus: You’ll support product engineering projects driving the next wave of innovation for Eaton’s products. Program Focus : The Engineering & Technology Development Program – Power Electronics Track develops power electronics technology platforms and common hardware building blocks. Rotations may support a specific business unit/product line or broader technologies. Our strategic teams are working on cutting-edge technologies including: MV Power Conversion Solid State Circuit Protection Transportation Electrification Energy Intelligence After completing the program, you’ll have the technical depth and business acumen to pursue larger challenges within the Engineering & Technology function, including technical or people leadership opportunities. If you’re passionate about innovation and disruptive technology, this two-year rotational program may be for you. It offers two unique 12-month assignments, with opportunities to design next-generation intelligent power management solutions and grow leadership and technical depth in strategic areas. Responsibilities / What You’ll Do
Support product engineering projects and contribute to the development of power electronics technology platforms and hardware building blocks. Rotate across teams to gain broader exposure and apply technical and leadership skills. Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications Master’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering from an accredited institution with graduation before August 2026 Minimum of one internship/co-op or 3 months of Power Electronics work experience by application Geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States Eaton will not consider employment sponsorship or support for CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap, O-1, E-3, TN, I-485 job portability, etc. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated leadership experience within campus/community Two or more relevant internships or co-ops Power Electronics industry experience (hardware/control design, power conversion, model-based design, electrical testing) Software exposure: RTDS, OPAL-RT, Typhoon, dSPACE, MATLAB Exposure to machine learning or AI concepts (coursework, internships, research, or projects) including experience with AI-assisted development tools and generative AI models Position Criteria Excellent verbal and written communication skills willingness to travel up to 25% within the local region as determined by the Assignment Manager Relocation to Eaton facilities within the United States (e.g., Raleigh, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; Milwaukee, WI; Southfield, MI; Torrance, CA) as required during the program Additional Information We are committed to equal employment opportunities and providing accommodations as needed.
