Architectural Project Manager (Specializing in Restoration)

Seeking a highly skilled and proactive Architectural Project Manager to oversee a variety of projects in the fields of building restoration, facade repair, and adaptive reuse. This role needs someone with a strong foundation in architecture or engineering and with extensive construction administration and inspection experience. The Project Manager drives the entire project lifecycle— from schematic design through completion—while managing client relationships, budgets, timelines, and project teams. This individual is responsible for the preparation of architectural plans, specifications, reports, and drawings for restoration and alteration projects. This position requires a high level of responsibility, autonomy, and collaboration with senior leadership to ensure the successful execution of complex architectural projects. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution: Lead all aspects of architectural projects, including project timelines, budgets, and quality control. Client Management: Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for clients, managing expectations, proactively addressing concerns, and ensuring the project is completed to their satisfaction. Holistic Project Management: Take a systematic and comprehensive approach to each project, ensuring that all technical, financial, and logistical aspects are integrated. Restoration & Alteration Expertise: Utilize your deep knowledge and passion for restoration and façade repair to oversee the technical and creative aspects of restoration/alteration projects. Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with a team of architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals. Technical Skills: Prepare and review construction documents, identify project needs, prepare estimates, and coordinate site inspections. Field Supervision & Inspections: Regularly visit construction sites to ensure work is progressing as planned, conduct scaffold inspections, and perform quality control checks. Business Development & Marketing: Assist in business development activities by contributing to proposals, presentations, and marketing materials. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Manage and mentor APMs, ensuring that they are equipped to support project needs effectively. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all necessary regulatory filings are completed with NYC DOB, LPC, and other relevant agencies. Required Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in architectural project management, with a strong background in restoration, façade repair, or adaptive reuse projects. Education: A professional degree in Architecture or Engineering (Bachelor’s or Master’s). Certifications: Must have NYC scaffolding certification and the ability to work on both fixed and suspended scaffolding as well as aerial lifts. Skills & Expertise: Proficiency in AutoCAD required. Proficiency in project management software and building design software is a plus.
