Bechtel is hiring for the Thacker Pass Project. Bechtel is the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, managing and integrating the efforts of contractors, engineering, and procurement of goods and services for the lithium project in Nevada. Job Summary
In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders, coordinating and instructing subcontractor management staff. You will supervise field operations to ensure work is planned and executed safely and in alignment with established schedules. Major Responsibilities
Monitors and directs subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractors' management staff within the area of responsibility. Support on large, highly complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Planning
Reviews and monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements. Reviews and approves subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material/equipment requirements as needed. Leads construction operations to align external interfaces with overall schedules. Safety / Quality
Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, and vendor requirements. Implements and enforces policies, procedures and work rules established by field construction management. Technical
Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals to interpret Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents. Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, Foremen, and Craft Professionals; coordinates with Design on constructability issues. Education And Experience Requirements
Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10–13 years of relevant experience or 14–17 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge And Skills
Experience with construction in all areas of mechanical systems, equipment, and piping. Coordinate with supervision the work schedule and material deliveries; complete training requirements; prepare installation work packages. Inspect field installations and maintain associated documentation; perform quantity take-offs, control, reporting, and forecasting for mechanical/piping quantities. Prepare field change documentation and as-built documentation; interface with engineering to resolve design and constructability issues; assist with constructability and quality issues. Work with suppliers to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications; prepare material requisitions and review vendor drawings; coordinate with procurement expediting. Interpret design drawings; ensure proper storage of materials for environmental protection; perform material receipt inspections as required. Assist with construction estimates and propose design or installation improvements to enhance safety. Bechtel direct-hire craft experience, contract management experience, and familiarity with Bechtel work processes (BSAPs) are preferred. Experience in mining and metals; familiarity with Bechtel tools (BSAPs, ACONEX, TEAMWorks, Bechtel Productivity System, PTR, eSub) is an asset. Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; working knowledge of industry codes and standards; strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Total Rewards/Benefits
