Job Summary The Process Engineer is an entry level role that will provide technical and engineering support for the plant along with project leadership responsibilities. As a member of the ADM BioProducts plant team, the successful individual will improve existing processes and provide plant engineering support to growth and innovation projects in human food, pet food, animal feed, and industrial products spaces. This is a salaried exempt position. The engineer collaborates with the production team to develop and monitor appropriate benchmarks (KPI’s), create clear plans for Continuous Improvement, and use structured approaches to remove production bottlenecks. The role emphasizes cost management through focus on energy inputs, product yields, input utilization, and waste minimization. The engineer will participate in compliance performance and work in accordance with OSHA PSM, ADM’s Total Process Safety standards, FAMI-QS or other food safety standards, and environmental requirements including air permitting, waste management, spill prevention and control, and release reporting. Essential Job Functions - Collaboration with production and compliance departments to support Safety, Environmental, and Quality needs - Review and follow up on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and standardize them with department leadership - Drive Continuous Improvement and manage small projects - Facilitate change management with the use of Management of Change (MOC) for permanent and temporary changes - Ensure documentation of the process is maintained to satisfy compliance needs (e.g., P&ID’s, Process Controls Narratives, Operating Targets & Ranges, Process Safety Information, Technical Training) - Collaborate with Technology and Process Development teams to define engineering scope for new and innovative product lines and facilitate the transfer of plant capabilities including equipment specifications, throughput limitations, cost estimates, and performance standards Education/Training - Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering or equivalent - 3 years of relevant industrial experience is ideal Experience - Individual is expected to complete an orientation process tailored to prior industrial background - Data analytics and statistics experience is required - Experience in project management/prioritization - Must possess experience with writing/reading PFDs, P&IDs, and control narratives - Lean manufacturing experience is a plus Special Skills - Strong verbal and technical writing skills - Strong data analysis skills - Ability to coordinate multi-talented teams to drive sustainable process improvements - Ability to develop and communicate a strong vision of a continuously improved process Working Conditions Industrial plant setting ADM requires the successful completion of a background check. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The pay range for this position is expected to be between $72,900.00 - $136,200.00. Salaried incentive plan includes annual bonus.
