Travel Nuclear Medicine Tech Summary The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a highly specialized health care professional responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. They operate imaging equipment, monitor patient safety, and ensure compliance with radiation safety standards while collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver accurate diagnostic results. Responsibilities
Educates patients about nuclear medicine procedures and addresses questions Maintains and inspects nuclear medicine equipment for proper functioning; reports malfunctions and ensures compliance with radiation safety standards Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and other medications according to established protocols and safety standards Monitors patients for adverse reactions and intervenes as necessary to ensure safety Operates medical imaging equipment to create images per physician orders Documents procedure details in patient records to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance Follows hospital safety rules and radiation safety procedures to minimize exposure to radioactive materials Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of Nuclear Medicine Technologist practice Required Qualifications
One year's experience as a Nuclear Medicine Tech Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Radiography license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications
Current ARRT or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills English language proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills Physical abilities: able to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal skills to work with diverse personnel and maintain professionalism Technical/motor skills for handling procedures and equipment Mental requirements: capable of handling deadlines, irregular schedules, and attention to detail Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication Benefits Include
