Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Fusion Medical Staffing
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Oswego, New York. You will work with a dedicated clinical team to provide high-quality patient care while enjoying competitive pay and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities
Educate patients about nuclear medicine procedures and address questions as they arise Maintain and inspect nuclear medicine equipment, report malfunctions, and ensure compliance with radiation safety standards Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and other medications according to established protocols and safety standards Monitor patients for adverse reactions to radioactive drugs or other medications, and intervene as necessary to ensure safety Operate imaging equipment to create images according to physician orders Document procedure details in patient records to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance Follow hospital safety rules and radiation safety procedures to minimize exposure to radioactive materials Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of Nuclear Medicine Technologist practice Qualifications
Required
One year\'s experience as a Nuclear Medicine Tech Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Radiography license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred
Current ARRT or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a highly specialized healthcare professional responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. They operate advanced imaging equipment, monitor patient safety, and ensure compliance with radiation safety standards while collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver accurate and effective diagnostic results. Essential Work Functions
Educates patients about nuclear medicine procedures and addresses questions Maintains and inspects equipment, reports malfunctions, and ensures radiation safety compliance Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and other medications per established protocols Monitors patients for adverse reactions and intervenes when necessary Operates imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images Documents procedure details in patient records Follows hospital safety rules and radiation safety procedures Performs other duties within the scope of Nuclear Medicine Technologist practice Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment, push/pull, and bend Ability to work with a variety of personnel with a positive attitude Technical/motor skills for procedures and equipment operation Mental resilience to handle frequent public contact and deadlines; able to work under supervision or independently as required Visual acuity and effective communication skills Benefits
