The Audiologist II assesses and identifies patients with or at risk for hearing and auditory processing disorders to prevent disability and assist patients' optimal functioning. This position provides patient and family education as well as identifies follow-up resources and/or treatment by communicating with the referring provider and care team. This position may require mentoring/guidance in complex situations and may have difficulty with cross coverage to other settings.
Responsibilities include:
Evaluating and treating all diagnoses, including complex cases.
Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities, medical history, and functional limitations to develop individualized treatment plans.
Determining the type, degree, symmetry, stability, and configuration of hearing loss.
Providing diagnostic audiologic services to pediatric and adult clients, and developing care plans to prevent and treat hearing and auditory processing disorders.
Utilizing appropriate technologies and techniques for comprehensive evaluation and treatment of inpatients and outpatients at risk for or with known hearing impairments.
Providing effective patient/family/caregiver education throughout therapy.
Collaborating on discharge planning and recommendations for continued care.
Monitoring and documenting patient progress, treatment outcomes, and responses to interventions, adjusting plans as needed.
Working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
Performing additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) Experience:
At least 2 years required; 3 years preferred in relevant care settings. Licensure/Certifications:
Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology (CCC-A) from ASHA; BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
