Overview
Phlebotomist III Float role at Quest Diagnostics. This position involves a variety of work across patient service centers and locations, with shifts that may rotate and require travel to additional sites as needed. Location: Houston, TX. Schedule: Monday to Friday (Rotational Weekends) from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Pay range: $19.50+ per hour. Benefits and total rewards are available as part of the compensation package. Responsibilities
Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomist duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor’s office, or as business needs dictate. Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing. Collect specimens according to established procedures (e.g., drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams). Enter billing information and collect payment when required. Coach, mentor, instruct, and serve as a resource for new employees; act as a point of contact for staff on site; provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor. Travel to additional doctor’s offices or Patient Service Center sites as needed. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington. Work Experience
Five years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience. Benefits
