The Registered Nurse Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the 8West Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and accountability for the 24/7 operation of their designated units.
Overview Location: Shreveport, LA Salary: $76,721 – $142,067 per year Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:30am – 7:15pm with shift flexibility Appointment type: Permanent, Full‑time, Excepted Service
Responsibilities Develop, manage, and evaluate unit schedules and time/leave approvals. Lead and mentor the nursing team, fostering a culture of accountability and high‑quality, cost‑effective outcomes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to remove barriers and implement evidence‑based programs and processes. Maintain ethical decision‑making principles at personal, organizational, and staff levels. Support staff competence in culturally competent care and promote a culture of accountability.
Benefits Competitive salary with regular increases and potential performance awards. 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 Federal holidays). Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and 401(k) with up to 5% VA contribution. Qualifications U.S. Citizenship; background/security investigation required. Graduate of a professional nursing school accredited by ACEN or CCNE, or hold an active RN license. Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a registered professional nurse in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia. Experience in medical‑surgical nursing and previous leadership, management, or supervisory experience preferred. English language proficiency, proven by basic written and spoken English competency.
