Senior Electrical Engineer

Stryker . This role is based in Portage, MI, and is hybrid with an expectation to be in the office 3 days a week. Stryker Instruments is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support New Product Development within our Neptune Product Portfolio. This role involves collaboration, leadership, and driving innovation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, translating user needs into design specifications, influencing clinical outcomes, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will have the opportunity to engage directly with clinicians and stakeholders, bringing products from concept to market and making a measurable difference in caregivers’ lives. Responsibilities include: Design and development of electrical components, sub-systems, and systems for medical devices. Conducting, designing, and selecting advanced prototyping and testing. Technology exploration and influencing application in the business. Translating user needs into design inputs/specifications and producing complex system-level designs. Making design trade-off decisions while meeting project timelines and product requirements. Contributing to customer-facing activities like voice of customer and customer-centric design in partnership with stakeholders. Creating and refining engineering documentation, such as the Design History File. Collaborating with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management teams. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. 2+ years of electrical engineering experience. Preferred Qualifications: Design experience in mixed analog/digital design, wireless communication, motor control, mechatronics, wired communication protocols, electromagnetics, or power electronics. Knowledge of EMI/EMC design requirements. Understanding of complex component and sub-system design. Proficiency in advanced circuit and electrical system testing methods. Familiarity with industry-standard technologies and electrical stackups.
