Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Lead to join our Safety Worxs team in the NE Austin Metro Area. This role will provide expert guidance on the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems. The SME will support compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards while optimizing efficiency and safety. With a strong understanding of power distribution, grounding, and system integration, to support an on going project. Responsibilities
Mentor and coach electricians, foremen, and other site personnel on safe electrical practices and hazard recognition. Deliver toolbox talks content, job hazard analyses (JHAs) recommendations, and just-in-time safety coaching related to electrical tasks. Provide expert input on resolving electrical installation issues, including power distribution, temporary power, and grounding. Recommend safe and cost-effective solutions when electrical issues arise during construction. Conduct field reviews and assessments to identify and mitigate potential electrical risks. Ensure electrical work is performed in compliance with the NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and other applicable codes and standards. Participate in safety audits and inspections, focusing on electrical-related hazards and deficiencies. Support the development and enforcement of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and arc flash hazard analysis. Review electrical plans and specifications for constructability and safety considerations. Provide input on temporary power planning and sequencing to minimize risk during construction phases. Support or lead investigations of electrical near-misses, incidents, or failures to identify root causes. Weekly PowerPoint presentations (note: continue to present as part of ongoing safety communications). Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of hands-on electrical experience in construction environments. Extensive knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA electrical standards. BCSP Certification or College Degree or Master Electrician License Demonstrated experience in electrical safety training and workforce engagement. Preferred
A Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP) is preferred. Bachelor's degree in a safety related field Local
