Technical Writer – Fort Bliss, TX
Serco, a Prime contractor for the U.S. Army, seeks a Technical Writer to support the Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) program. The role involves creating clear technical publications to enhance the safety and defense capabilities of U.S. soldiers.
Responsibilities
Develop, organize, and write user guides, manuals, work instructions, training material, and other technical publications that are easy to understand.
Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
Review and/or copyedit content developed by other team members.
Work closely with subject matter experts, developers, and product managers to gather and interpret technical information.
Create diagrams, charts, and other visuals to enhance user comprehension of complex topics.
Maintain the information architecture.
Qualifications
An Active Secret clearance.
A Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience in technical writing or a Certified Technical Writer with 6 years of experience in technical writing.
Experience with Microsoft 365 and graphic design software.
Demonstrated technical proficiency.
Ability to travel up to 25% (Fort Bliss, TX).
Additional Desired Experience and Skills
Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and network operations.
Experience with document development to military standards.
Experience with graphic design software.
Understanding of an ISO 9001:205 QMS system.
Familiar with XML.
