Configuration Management Specialist
Serco is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to join our dynamic team at Fort Bliss, Texas, supporting the U.S. Army on high‑profile engineering projects. The role focuses on ensuring the integrity and traceability of hardware, software, and network configurations for the Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) program.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and deliver hardware, software, and network documentation to the contracting customer, including Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) and Technical Data Package (TDP) deliveries.
Create and update network configuration documentation, routing tables, and interconnect diagrams to support Level I, II, and III TDPs.
Maintain the knowledge management system and repository for network configuration items and program deliverables.
Establish and implement network configuration management policies and procedures that align with the existing project configuration management program.
Identify, document, submit, and review network change requests; evaluate their impact on platform configurations, integration designs, performance, costs, and schedules.
Provide weekly briefings, status updates, and network configuration item status to project management and the contracting customer.
Manage the overall configuration status of network hardware equipment and software components.
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct regular audits and assessments of network configurations.
Collaborate with project functional area leads and team members to ensure effective network integration.
Stay current on emerging DoD technologies and industry trends.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or Associate’s degree with minimum 6 years of experience)
Minimum 4–6 years of experience in network configuration management or a related role
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills
Experience managing technical data packages (TDPs) and deliverables
Familiarity with configuration status accounting and compliance with organizational policies
Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient technical writing
Ability to travel up to 25%
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Active Secret clearance required
Additional Desired Experience and Skills
Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP
Experience with military vehicles
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
Forklift operator experience is a plus
