Engineering roles perform engineering work in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments. They may design and scale up manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment, and tests manufactured products to maintain quality. They plan, design, estimate time and cost, and oversee construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems, and components. They develop and apply engineering standards and provide advice within the field. Discipline Description

Electrical/Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) engineers provide engineering support for electrical and/or instrumentation systems in a nuclear materials processing context. They identify system concepts, determine requirements, develop and analyze performance, monitor systems, troubleshoot, and implement improvements including equipment upgrades and plant modifications. Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include

Knowledge of distribution systems with voltages from 120V to 13.8kV, transformers and switchgear. Knowledge of electrical National Codes and Standards (NFPA 70/70E, IEEE). Electrical system protection, coordination curves, load studies, and arc flash analysis. Hands-on electrical design validation and verification experience. Low and medium voltage experience developing system repair designs, calibration, and installation plans. Experience in low to medium voltage industrial power systems (480V through 13.8kV). Oversight, design, planning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of LV/MV systems infrastructure (distribution cables, control systems, relaying, transformers, switchgear, substations, breakers, MCCs, alarms, and system coordination). Modeling and simulation for power systems and short-circuit analysis (e.g., ETAP). Other areas include lighting design, uninterruptible power systems, vessel heaters/heat trace, lockout/tagout, relay control systems, VFDs, diesel generators, ATS, harmonics impacts. Required Qualifications

P3: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering + 5+ years of experience OR Master’s in relevant field + 2+ years OR Doctoral in relevant field. P4: Bachelor's degree + 10+ years OR Master’s + 8+ years OR Doctoral + 5+ years. P5: Bachelor's + 15+ years OR Master’s + 12+ years OR Doctoral + 8+ years. Equivalencies considered. What We’d Also Like to See

Master or PhD in applicable science or engineering discipline. Advanced knowledge of discipline standards and practices. Working knowledge of standard engineering/scientific practices and applications. Clearance & Security
