AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated
Senior Structural Design Engineer
to join our multidisciplinary Water Resources Structural Engineering team based in our New Orleans office. AECOM’s Global Water Resources Team is involved in high profile, industry leading infrastructure projects throughout the United States and beyond, including a variety of significant projects at the State and Federal level. The AECOM New Orleans office works closely with the State of Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) and the New Orleans District US Army Corps of Engineers, as well as other state agencies and districts of the US Army Corps of Engineers. This role offers participation in a variety of challenging projects including flood protection, pump stations, ports, locks, dams, and other hydraulic structures for water conveyance and water treatment. Key Responsibilities
Lead Structural Engineer on projects, may include reviewing project designs, plans and specifications. Provide specialized technical input on water-related projects. Manage structural projects, including design tasks and coordination of work with multi-disciplined engineering staff within AECOM and joint venture partners. Prepare proposals, technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited support and inspection during construction. Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards; modify guidelines as necessary, devise new approaches, and apply existing criteria in new ways. Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed. The Structural Engineering team combines project managers, civil engineers, structural engineers, geotechnical engineers, numerical modelers, and related disciplines to deliver technically innovative, integrated, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions across infrastructure programs and local projects. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years' experience in structural design. Master's degree in structural engineering. Project management skills. Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing. Structural problem analysis skills, including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools and software. Knowledge of other standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable codes (e.g., ACI, ASIC, ASCE, AASHTO, USACE Engineering Manuals). Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools including finite element analysis. A current PE license in the State of LA, TX, or others. Additional Information
