We are a rapidly growing integrator specializing in machine design and automation in the medical, military/aerospace, and high-end industrial sectors. Our work is exciting and challenging daily, serving clients from Fortune 50 companies to startups across various projects. You could work on small custom machines or full automated assembly lines. We are a small, accomplished team seeking experienced engineers to join our growing, tight-knit team. The Position:
The Automation Controls Engineer is responsible for leveraging technology to improve manufacturing processes through automation. Depending on the assignment, they may lead small automation projects, support specific areas, or validate automation projects. They are proficient in electrical and software control systems, instrumentation, hardware, utilities, or qualification testing. The engineer supports customer needs aligned with business goals and collaborates with junior engineers. Expertise in Allen Bradley PLCs and Rockwell tools such as FactoryTalk View and Studio 5000 is required. Primary Responsibilities: Project Support - Collaborate within project teams, adhere to schedules, assist in start-up, commissioning, and owner interactions. Provide SME leadership in electrical design, schematic and cabinet design in AutoCAD Electrical, PLC and HMI programming in Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View. Extend programming from machine level to SCADA and system integration. If assigned as Area Lead; support process troubleshooting, continuous improvement, system administration, and serve as a point of contact for operations. Develop standards and provide expertise to management. Effective communication (verbal and written) within the area of responsibility. Apply problem-solving skills to support operational needs. Promote a collaborative environment and work effectively within teams. Adhere to GxP compliance, change control, quality oversight, and validation standards. Additional duties as assigned. System Technical Skills: Design, configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Allen Bradley PLC/HMI systems; Studio 5000, Optix Core, FactoryTalk View; Ignition SCADA; Fanuc Robots; PLC/PC-based electrical control panel design; industrial networks, IO link, Smart IO. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Computer, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. At least 5 years of direct experience in automation engineering, programming, and validation. Flexible work-from-home options available.
