Summary of Job Duties As nurses, you are integral members of a team dedicated to providing the best care for patients through collaboration, communication and patient safety. As part of the TOSH teams, Pre‑op and PACU nurses define their practice through attention to nursing excellence and outstanding patient care, are driven by their expertise, compassion and dedication to evidence‑based practice, and operate at a higher level of practice.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma RN, or Master’s degree in Nursing.

Must be a graduate of an accredited RN nursing program.

Valid Registered Nursing License.

Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nursing experience.

Basic computer skills.

Excellent communication skills.

Strong work ethics and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current BLS

ACLS certification

Scrubbing experience

Orthopedic experience is a plus

EPIC experience

Responsibilities

Delivers nursing care for patients within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures, and standards.

Adheres to the standard of care defined by UAMS, ANA, and the Standards for specialty patient populations with support and mentoring by other team members.

Collects and documents assessment data.

Develops a Plan of Care (POC) per standard.

Implements POC, including medical order and interdisciplinary approach.

Evaluates the progress of the patient toward the attainment of desired outcomes.

Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.

Administers medication per standard, including drug information to patients/families.

Acts as a resource/supports others.

Delivers patient care using the principles of the defined nursing modality.

Delegates care based on TOSH-UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, specific job description, and individual level of education and training.

Contributes to a positive work environment that fosters clinical education while serving as a valuable resource for student nurses and staff.

Performs any other duties assigned.
