Perform basic and advanced diagnostic audiologic evaluations across the lifespan Interpret and analyze test results to develop patient-centered treatment plans Counsel patients and families on hearing loss, its impact, and management strategies Manage the ongoing needs of hearing aid and cochlear implant users, including programming, troubleshooting, and follow-up care Conduct verification of hearing aid fittings using best-practice technology Administer comprehensive cochlear implant evaluations, including aided speech perception testing, and determine candidacy for implantable hearing technologies Counsel patients on implantable technology options, function, and realistic expectations Perform diagnostic testing for cochlear implant devices in both clinical and OR settings Program and manage all available implantable devices in the adult population Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Audiology (AuD) required Current North Carolina Audiology license (or eligibility for licensure) required Minimum of one year of experience in an academic medical center working collaboratively with otolaryngologists and related professionals preferred Experience with student supervision and clinical teaching preferred Job Details

Education: AuD or Masters degree in Audiology with continuous active certificate Licensure: NC State Audiology License; BCLS; Master’s level candidates may require license/certificate from NC Hearing Aid Dealer's and Fitters Board Professional Experience: Audiologist experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse populations, strong computer/audiology software proficiency, and ability to prioritize duties This is a State position employed by UNC Health Care System with UNC Health benefits.
