Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Specialist Nurse to join our inpatient care team. The ideal candidate will provide expert nursing care, support recovery efforts, and play a key role in managing patients with substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders within an inpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with substance use psychiatric disorders.
Conduct assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions.
Administer medications, including those used in medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and monitor patient responses.
Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
Educate patients and families about substance use and psychiatric disorders, treatment options, and recovery strategies.
Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
Qualifications
Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
Certification in Addiction Nursing (CARN) is an asset.
Minimum of 4 years of nursing experience, preferably in substance use treatment, mental health, or inpatient care.
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
