Licensed Mental Health Professional (Outpatient) – Primary Care Center
Centra Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Mental Health Professional. This provider is open Monday‑Friday 8am‑5pm. The role is a full‑time, outpatient position in Lynchburg, VA.
Job Summary The Licensed Mental Health Professional provides therapeutic services to individuals of varying ages in a variety of clinical settings. The professional works autonomously within multidisciplinary teams and provides comprehensive care including assessment, consultation, treatment planning, counseling, education, referral and discharge planning.
Responsibilities
Conduct clinical assessments and consultations
Assign diagnoses as appropriate to clinical setting
Provide billable services as appropriate
Develop treatment plans
Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams to achieve patient disposition
Conduct individual, group, and family therapy and interventions
May provide clinical supervision to non‑licensed staff and student interns
Perform risk assessments; function autonomously within scope of practice
Effectively utilize and document in EMR; follow-up on risk management concerns within specified time frames
Provide patient education
Maintain environment that protects patients from harm
Identify personal contributions to unit‑based cascading goals; use resources cost‑effectively
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required Education:
Master’s Degree in Human Services, Counseling, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or Nursing.
Required Licensure:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
Certifications:
Current CPI certification within ninety days of hire; CPR certification within thirty days of hire; Current BLS within four months of hire.
Experience:
Minimum of two years in a behavioral health setting with direct mental health experience.
