The Opportunity
Come join our Team! We are a well-established, full-service, 3-doctor, AAHA accredited hospital that is dedicated to provide our community with optimal veterinary care. Our practice promotes a welcoming environment where our team members feel like family. Our hospital is fully furnished with 7 exam rooms, a large treatment suite, two dental wet tables, sterile surgical suite, and state of the art equipment including complete in‑house laboratory, digital x‑ray, digital intraoral x‑ray, lift exam tables and more. Responsibilities
Assist the veterinarian during examination of animals, providing restraint as needed in order to work safely and effectively. Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, serums, and treatments, as prescribed by the veterinarian. Perform routine dental scaling/polishing on animals under the direct direction of the veterinarian. Administer anesthesia to animals under the direction of the veterinarian and monitors animals’ responses to anesthetics so that dosages can be adjusted. Obtain radiographs of animals with knowledge of proper positioning and techniques. Care for and monitor the condition of animals recovering from surgery. Perform routine laboratory tests using our in‑house lab equipment. Collect, prepare, and label samples for laboratory testing, culture, or microscopic examination. Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials. Fills prescriptions, measuring medications and labeling containers. Prepare animals for surgery, performing such tasks as shaving surgical areas and placing IV catheters. Maintain clean examination rooms and treatment areas. Work collaboratively with veterinarians to ensure that all animals are being cared for properly. Qualifications
High School Graduate or Equivalent At least 2 years of experience in the role of veterinary technician Knowledge of AVImark is a plus Benefits
