The job purpose and scope of the Clinical Sales Specialist (CSS) role is to provide TAVI clinical trial and commercial case support, trial enrollment and education initiatives for accounts within a defined region. The CSS will be an integrated part of the trial and commercial sales process in collaboration with the Territory Manager (TM) to educate interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and hybrid OR/cath lab personnel on the safe and effective use of Abbott TAVI products. The role is responsible for customer interface while demonstrating expertise with our TAVI clinical and commercial product portfolio, procedure and therapy to achieve best-in-class patient outcomes and to advance clinical evidence and market share. The position may be hired at different levels based on experience and may travel more than 50% depending on staffing and regional demands. The CSS will report to the Regional Sales Director with guidance from the Territory Manager on daily activities. What You’ll Work On
Successfully complete internal training covering hemodynamics, ECG, angiography, echo and CT imaging modalities and complete the case support and proctor delegate authorizations. Provide active clinical trial and commercial case support, demonstrating excellence in procedural success rates and patient outcomes. Scrub in sterile and provide TAVI valve loading in procedures and training instruction to trial and commercial customers. Provide CT valve sizing analysis utilizing the Pie Medical 3Mensio CT program. Provide trial site engagement and participation in subject selection committee calls. Lead customer didactic education sessions for account activation before first implants. Lead pre-case planning and debriefing of heart team pre- and post-procedure and provide ongoing education as requested for proper in-service levels. Manage trial and commercial inventory and field trunk stock; provide required documentation for quality assurance initiatives. Co-develop the commercial business plan for the assigned region with the Territory Manager (TM). Co-support internal/external quarterly business reviews with the Territory Manager (TM). Data entry into Salesforce and Mentor software for customer case support management;learn commercial data analytics and tools for effective customer experience. Support customer engagement strategy with the Territory Manager (TM). Demonstrate competency with marketing messaging, clinical evidence and the medical education portfolio offering. Complete sales enablement training in professional selling skills and Challenger methodology. Demonstrate knowledge of the TAVI market, industry and competitive insights. Participate in team meetings, conventions and national sales meetings as requested; complete vendor credentialing process for hospital access as required. Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) or Arts (BA) degree or equivalent clinical degree (e.g., Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, Certified Cardiology Technician, Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner, Transcatheter Cardiovascular Scrub Technician, Physician Assistant). 9+ years clinical work experience in hospital or medical device industry; 5+ years in Structural Heart, endovascular/TEVAR/EVAR/TCAR, or experience supporting 300+ TAVI cases.
