Echocardiograph Technologist

Under the direction of the Department Director and supervision of the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager, the Echo Tech performs clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures and related activities according to department standards for all patients served: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Serves as a customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff. Participates in quality control and organizational improvement activities. Serves as a clinical and technical resource for less experienced sonographers.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of a program in cardiac echocardiography approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association, or equivalent education and experience.
Completed equivalent training through self-study or on-the-job training.
National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire. Or
National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire.
National Provider BLS from the American Heart Association upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Successful completion of national certification examinations in cardiac echocardiography, color Doppler, and stress testing conducted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
Experience as a hospital-based Sonographer.
