Job Summary And Qualifications The Cardiac Cath Lab Technician safely performs a variety of technical procedures, utilizing specialized angiographic equipment for diagnosis of cardiovascular and/or peripheral vascular disease entities; as well as for therapeutic intervention to treat disease processes.
What You Will Do In This Role
Operates Specialized Equipment /Radiation Safety: Operates specialized radiographic and invasive procedure equipment
Understands needs and identifies needed supplies appropiately for invasive procedures. Ensures supplies available for procedures.
Employs radiation protection devices and techniques as required.
Independently assists physician as scrub person and operates fluoroscopic/specialized equipment safely.
Understands and practices sterile technique
Orients new employees as related to special procedure technologist duties
Participates in departmental performance improvement activities
Fulfills assigned on call obligations.
What Qualifications You Will Need
Completion of an accredited and approved Radiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist program.
Current Registered Radiographer (ARRT) or Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS) certification is required; Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) credential preferred over ARRT.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS, and ALS OR ACLS) Course Completion and Certification.
