Job Summary And Qualifications The Cardiac Cath Lab Technician safely performs a variety of technical procedures, utilizing specialized angiographic equipment for diagnosis of cardiovascular and/or peripheral vascular disease entities; as well as for therapeutic intervention to treat disease processes.

What You Will Do In This Role

Operate specialized radiographic and invasive procedure equipment.

Understand needs and identify required supplies appropriately for invasive procedures; ensure supplies are available.

Employ radiation protection devices and techniques as required.

Independently assist physician as scrub person and operate fluoroscopic/specialized equipment safely.

Practice sterile technique.

Orient new employees regarding special procedure technologist duties.

Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.

Fulfill assigned on‑call obligations.

What Qualifications You Will Need

Completion of an accredited and approved Radiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist program.

Current Registered Radiographer (ARRT) and/or certification as a Radiology Technician or Cardiovascular Technologist; Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) credential preferred.

American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS or BCLS, and ALS or ACLS) course completion and certification.
