Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Psychiatry . As an NP in Psychiatry, you will play a crucial role in providing mental health care services to patients. Your work will be essential in diagnosing, treating, and managing the mental health needs of individuals, contributing significantly to the overall well-being of our clients.
In this role, you will be involved in a variety of projects focused on psychiatric evaluations, medication management, therapy sessions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mental health, strong clinical skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications.
Provide therapy and counseling to patients.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Educate patients and their families about mental health issues.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
Participate in case conferences and treatment team meetings.
Requirements:
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry.
Valid Nurse Practitioner license with a focus on Psychiatry.
Proven experience working in a psychiatric setting.
Excellent knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment modalities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Empathy and compassion towards patients with mental health challenges.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Schedule: 4x 10-hour shifts per week
No call
Setting: Outpatient
Daily Volume: 10-12 patients
Patient Census: Children and/or adults
Will practice independently with some supervision
EMR: AthenaHealth
Must be board-certified
